Wessel의 정의: "Rule of three" - (crying spells at least three hours a day, threetimes a week for three consecutive weeks and lasting threemonths).
Excess crying을 분류하기 위한 3 criteria(from newborn up to 4 months of age)[!^4]
1. infants with crying spellsand irritability for three or more hours a day
2. three days aweek and at least for one week
3. no failure to thrive, i.e.,without any consequences for the child’s development
