점막결손
- 정의: "an area of slough or erythema clearly demarcated from the adjacent normal appearing mucosa"
- 이 정의에 따르면 점막결손은 미란과 궤양뿐 아니라 경계가 뚜렷한 발적까지 포함하는 개념이므로 점막결손이 있다는 이유로 역류성식도염 또는 미란성식도염 (erosive esophagitis)로 부르는 것은 논리적으로 타당하지 않다.
Erosion은 mucosal break의 일부!
- Erosion이 있을 때 erosive esophagitis라고 부르면 간단하겠지만 erosion이 아니라 mucosal break가 있는 것을 erosive esophagitis라고 부르고 있다.
