발기장애로 내원하는 경우에는 남성갱년기를 의심하기가 쉽지만 비특이적이고 설명할 수 없는 피로감, 우울감 등으로 내원한 경우에는 이를 의심하고 평가하기란 쉽지가 않다.
테스토스테론결핍(Testosterone deficiency, TD)를 의심해야 하는 상황을 잘 알아두자. 2018 AUA에서는 다음과 같은 증상/징후를 보이는 경우 TD를 의심하라고 언급하고 있다.
